The short answer
- Who it is for: Walmart New-Seller Savings is for first-time Walmart Marketplace sellers, domestic or international, who start selling after 1 February 2026, per the full offer terms. Walmart's overview and its full terms differ on enrollment, which is covered below.
- When it ends: Walmart's overview says the offer lasts until 31 January 2027, about 13 weeks after 1 November 2026. Walmart's terms say it may alter or end the offer at any time without notification.
- What the $75K is: mostly a percentage off referral fees as you sell, plus a fulfilment fee reimbursement, an ad rebate and an ad credit. It is not a cash grant.
- The ceiling: the $72,000 referral fee cap is reached only at high sales. At an example 15 percent fee it takes about $1.3 million of sales.
- The conditions to read closely: the $500 Walmart Connect credit needs an item with a listing score of 80 or higher, plus fast shipping or Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS), and it must be used within 28 days of your first qualifying ad spend or by 31 January 2027, whichever is sooner.
- What to check first: whether you sold on Walmart before 1 February 2026, whether you have accepted the enrollment terms in Seller Center, and what your listing score is.
Walmart New-Seller Savings, per Walmart's own overview, offers "up to $75K" and says "This offer lasts until January 31, 2027." The page with the full terms says the referral fee part is capped at $72,000, and that the whole offer is for first-time Walmart Marketplace sellers who start selling after 1 February 2026. I read both pages on 1 November 2026, and the second one is the page Walmart points to for the conditions.
This guide is for Amazon brand owners weighing a Walmart launch before the deadline. It covers what each part of Walmart New-Seller Savings pays, who qualifies, what conditions the ad credit carries, and what to check before you go live.

What is Walmart New-Seller Savings?
It is a launch incentive from Walmart Marketplace with four parts. The overview describes it as up to $75K in "incentives and benefits" for a new business on Walmart.com, "depending on the Walmart solution". Each part is a different mechanism with its own conditions, which is why the headline number tells you very little on its own.
- Referral fee discount: 20 percent off your base referral fee on the first $50K of sales, 30 percent from $50K to $500K, and 40 percent above $500K. It applies as you sell.
- WFS discount: 10 percent off fulfilment fees until you reach $2K in savings. The credits are "redeemed as reimbursements for fulfillment services", so you pay first and are reimbursed.
- Search Engine Marketing rebate: a 50 percent rebate, paid as credits, on eligible ad spend, so you spend first.
- Walmart Connect ad credit: up to $500 of advertising credit, with its own list of conditions.
If you already sell on Amazon and are comparing marketplaces, this is the same kind of arithmetic as any fee comparison, with one extra twist: most of the value only appears after you have sold. Walmart's own wording is that the referral discount starts "once your store goes live". The savings follow your sales, not the other way round.
Who qualifies for Walmart New-Seller Savings?
The overview's table ends with "Conditions apply. Review full offer for details." Its FAQ adds one condition: "All qualified sellers must go live after February 1, 2026, to participate in New-Seller Savings." The full offer says the discount "is available only to first-time domestic or international Walmart Marketplace sellers" who meet three conditions:
- They start selling after 1 February 2026 and complete all onboarding steps.
- They accept the "Click" to enroll participation terms in the New-Seller Savings incentive form in Seller Center.
- They maintain good performance metrics and comply with Walmart's retailer policies.
Here the two pages disagree. The overview FAQ says "New sellers are auto enrolled for up to 12 months. This program ends January 31, 2027." The full terms ask you to accept the enrollment terms yourself. Sellers who joined between 1 February and 27 April 2026 are exempt from that step, and for everyone else Walmart says it "retains full discretion" on whether to give the discount to a seller who has not accepted the terms but otherwise meets the criteria. The pages do not reconcile the two, and Walmart points to the full offer for details, so accepting the terms in Seller Center is the safer reading. It also means the "12 months" is capped by the end date: a store that goes live in November 2026 would, on my reading, have at most about 13 weeks of discounts.
One more condition sits near the end of the terms. Benefits are limited to one seller account, and "Existing Seller may not create new accounts in order to take advantage of this offer." If your brand already has a Walmart seller account, opening a second one to claim the savings is not a workaround, and I would not suggest one. What the pages do not say is whether an account that was approved but never sold counts as an existing seller. That is a question for Walmart Seller Support, in writing, before you plan around the savings.
How to know if you are in the group
- You have never had a Walmart Marketplace account: you are the seller the offer describes, provided you go live after 1 February 2026.
- You started selling on Walmart after 1 February 2026: you fit the date condition. Check that you accepted the enrollment terms unless you joined between 1 February and 27 April 2026.
- You were already selling on Walmart before 1 February 2026: the first-time and date conditions point against you. Read the terms in Seller Center rather than relying on a roundup.
- You have an approved account that never went live: the pages are silent. Ask Walmart before launching.
What does the $75K add up to?
The overview rounds to $75K. The full terms list the components as up to $72,000 in referral fee discounts, $2,000 in WFS discounts, $500 in Walmart Connect credits and $1,000 in SEM credits. Added together that is $75,500, a little above the rounded headline. Walmart's terms also say the referral figure assumes "an average Referral fee for new sellers in their first year" and that total savings "will vary by seller depending on the base Referral Fee applicable".
| Part | Maximum in the full terms | What has to happen first |
|---|---|---|
| Referral fee discount | $72,000 | You sell. The discount follows your sales tier. |
| WFS discount | $2,000 | At least one item reaches a Walmart fulfilment centre. Applied on sale, reimbursed by the close of the following month. Prep services and unplanned fees are not discounted. |
| SEM credits | $1,000 for verified brand owners on the Walmart Brand Portal; $250 for other new sellers | You spend at least $2,000 (brand owners) or $500 (other sellers) on eligible SEM campaigns. The rebate is 50 percent. |
| Walmart Connect credit | $500 | You meet every eligibility condition and opt in through the email link. Credit unused after the use period is forfeited. |
The SEM row is where the overview and the terms differ most. The overview says "up to $1K". The terms say that figure is for verified brand owners registered on the Walmart Brand Portal, who must spend $2,000. Other new sellers get up to $250 for $500 of spend. If you are a brand owner, registering the brand matters here for a second reason beyond the usual ones.
How much does the referral fee discount save?
This is the largest number on the page and the one most likely to be misread. I use an example base fee of 15 percent to show the arithmetic. That is not a Walmart rate. Your category's referral fee is in Walmart's referral fee schedule, so swap in your own. I am also assuming the percentage applies to the fee on each tier of sales, which is how I read the terms.
| Total sales | Base fee at an example 15% | Discount earned |
|---|---|---|
| $50,000 | $7,500 | $1,500 (20 percent off) |
| $500,000 | $75,000 | $21,750 |
| $1,000,000 | $150,000 | $51,750 |
| About $1,337,500 | About $200,600 | $72,000, the cap |
Example numbers throughout. The point is the shape. At the example rate, the first $50,000 of sales earns $1,500, which is a useful saving and not a funded launch. The 30 and 40 percent tiers are what make the headline large, and they only switch on at much higher sales. It is safer to plan the launch on the margin you would have without the discount, and treat the savings as a bonus on top.
What conditions does the Walmart Connect credit carry?
Each condition is a separate thing to get right. Per Walmart, an eligible advertiser is a new seller that has not yet advertised with Walmart Connect and that:
- Has an Ad Center account in good standing: the account has to exist before the credit can attach to it.
- Has at least one admin user registered: on the Ad Center account.
- Has an item scoring 80 or higher: the overview calls this the Content Quality score, and the full terms call it the Offer Listing Quality score (OLQ).
- Has an item with fast shipping or WFS: fast shipping means three days or less.
Two things make this trickier than it looks. First, I could not confirm from either page that the Content Quality score and the Offer Listing Quality score are the same number. Worth reading the score for your items inside Seller Center and matching it to the term Walmart uses there, not to a roundup. If you want the background on how Walmart scores listings, our guide to Walmart's seller metrics covers the performance standards Walmart sets for sellers.
Second, the clock. Walmart Connect sends an email to eligible advertisers, and you must opt in through the link in it. Then the credit has to be used "within 4 weeks (28 days) after the date of Advertiser's initial qualifying ad spend or by January 31, 2027, whichever is sooner". Anything unused is forfeited. A credit you opt into in the second half of January therefore has very little room.
What should you check first before you go live?

The order below puts the cheapest check first, because the first two can end the plan before any listing work starts.
- Your Walmart history. Confirm whether your business has ever held a Walmart Marketplace seller account, and whether it sold before 1 February 2026. If it has held one, ask Walmart in writing whether you count as a first-time seller.
- Your start date. The offer is for sellers who start selling after 1 February 2026. Write down your planned go-live date and compare it with 31 January 2027.
- The enrollment form. Find the New-Seller Savings incentive form in Seller Center and accept the terms if you joined after 27 April 2026.
- The listing score. Check the score on the items you plan to advertise. An item below 80 is a listing job, not an ad job.
- The shipping route. Decide between a three-day-or-faster self-ship promise and WFS, since the credit accepts either.
If you are also weighing UK, EU or Canada launches, our marketplace expansion guide covers those Amazon stores. The savings are a reason to move earlier on Walmart, not a reason to launch an unprepared catalogue.
How are the savings applied once you are live?
Parts of it are applied for you. The terms say discounts are applied from "the moment Seller completes onboarding steps" until 31 January 2027 or until the maximum is reached, whichever comes first. SEM credits are applied automatically once the spend threshold is met: you create a campaign and the credit follows. The WFS discount is applied on sale, then reimbursed by the close of the following month.
The ad credit needs its own opt-in, and the terms ask for the click-to-enroll step. Neither page says what counts as going live. The overview FAQ says to go live after 1 February 2026, the terms say a seller who "Starts selling after February 1, 2026" and completes all onboarding steps, and nothing says whether that means your first published listing or your first order. If your launch date matters to your plan, confirm what Walmart counts before you rely on it.
How do you keep the savings once you have them?
The terms attach conditions that run the whole way to 31 January 2027. Walmart says the seller must keep meeting required Seller Performance standards and other performance metrics, and that a violation of the agreement or marketplace policies, or any indication of circumvention or fraud, "may result in the reversal of the Discounts and demand for reimbursement". The terms also say that if several promotions are active on an item, Walmart "may apply only the highest offer available to you", so stacking one discount on top of another cannot be assumed.
The terms tie the discount to meeting Walmart's seller performance standards, and that holds through 31 January 2027. Our guide to Walmart listings unpublished covers what happens when a listing falls out of the catalogue, which matters here because a listing that is not live earns no discount.
Finally, Walmart says it may revise the terms at any time and post the changes in Seller Center. That is worth a calendar reminder, not a reason to wait: re-reading the terms page the week you go live, and again before the end of January 2027, costs ten minutes.
Get your Walmart launch checked before 31 January 2027
If you want a second pair of eyes, this is the kind of work our Walmart Marketplace services are for: an audit of listing quality and compliance, and the migration and optimization of your catalogue before the first order. I cannot promise you will qualify for any part of the offer, since that is Walmart's decision. What I can do is read the terms against your situation and tell you where you stand.

Common questions about Walmart New-Seller Savings
When does Walmart New-Seller Savings end
Walmart's overview says "This offer lasts until January 31, 2027." The full terms say discounts are applied from the moment the seller completes onboarding steps until 31 January 2027 or until the maximum savings is reached, whichever comes first. Walmart also says it may alter or end the offer at any time without notification, so the date is worth rechecking when you go live.
Can an existing Walmart seller get New-Seller Savings
The full terms say the discount is available only to first-time domestic or international Walmart Marketplace sellers who start selling after 1 February 2026. Benefits are limited to one seller account, and the terms say an existing seller may not create new accounts to take advantage of the offer. The pages do not say whether an approved account that never sold counts, so ask Walmart Seller Support before you plan around it.
Is the $75K from Walmart New-Seller Savings cash
Not as a cash grant. The largest part is a percentage off your base referral fee as you sell. The Walmart Fulfillment Services discount is reimbursed against fees you pay first, the Search Engine Marketing credit is a rebate on ad spend, and the Walmart Connect credit is not redeemable for cash and is forfeited if unused. The full terms list the maximums as $72,000, $2,000, $1,000 and $500, which add up to $75,500.
What score does the Walmart Connect ad credit need
The credit needs at least one item with a score of 80 or greater. Walmart's overview calls it the Content Quality score, and the full terms call it the Offer Listing Quality score (OLQ). You also need an Ad Center account in good standing, an admin user, and an item with fast shipping of three days or less or one using WFS. The seller must also be new to Walmart Connect advertising.
Do I have to sign up for New-Seller Savings
The full terms ask you to accept the "Click" to enroll participation terms in the New-Seller Savings incentive form in Seller Center. Sellers who joined between 1 February and 27 April 2026 are exempt. For everyone else, Walmart says it retains full discretion on whether to give the discount if the terms were not accepted. The overview FAQ says new sellers are auto enrolled for up to 12 months, so the two pages differ, and accepting the terms is the safer reading. The Walmart Connect credit has its own opt-in through a link in an email from Walmart Connect.
Can Walmart take the savings back
The terms say a violation of the agreement or marketplace policies, or any indication of circumvention or fraud, may result in the reversal of the discounts and a demand for reimbursement. The seller must also keep meeting the required performance standards through 31 January 2027. Walmart may revise the terms at any time, with changes posted in Seller Center.
