The problem

On 16 August 2026 Amazon removed a HEPA air filter listing as a pesticide product, citing references to "traps," "removes," and "captures" airborne particles including bacteria. The notice asked for an EPA Registration or EPA Establishment number in the Pesticide Marking attribute.

What we did

We appealed, and the appeal was rejected again and again. The listing had no manual edit option, so we could not add the number. We made a new listing on the same ASIN and UPC, with the EPA number, and the flag then cleared itself.

The result

Restricted product violations back to 0 on 26 August 2026, about 10 days after the flag, with Policy Compliance Issues at 0 and zero policy violation warnings.
